DENVER — Colorado Attorney General John Suthers announced today that his office has filed a lawsuit against a Westminster-based company, Real Talk Network, and its corporate officers, David Allen Burke (DOB: 9/6/1967) and Erik Sale (DOB: 11/26/1973), on suspicion that they engaged in false and deceptive trade practices and violated Colorado’s consumer credit laws.

DENVER — Colorado Attorney General John Suthers announced today that his office has reached a settlement with Colorado Springs-based Independence Planning, dba Alternative Lending of Colorado, and two of its top employees. Under the settlement, approved by a Fremont County District Court judge, the company and its managing general partner, James W. Dale III (DOB: 4/4/1945), and top loan originator, April A. Bigler (DOB: 10/15/1980), have been ordered to pay more than $78,000 in fines and restitution.

DENVER — Colorado Attorney General John Suthers announced today that an El Paso County District Court has issued orders barring a Colorado Springs business, the Immigration Center, and its owners and operators, Charles Doucette, Deborah Stilson and Alfred Boyce, from defrauding consumers in search of assistance in obtaining or completing federal immigration forms.

DENVER — Colorado Attorney General John Suthers announced today that his office has filed a consumer protection lawsuit against American Mortgage Consultants, its owner, Oliver Paul Maldonado (DOB: 12/15/1972), and its principal employee, Santiago Fabian Pineda (DOB: 6/24/1978), on suspicion that they defrauded consumers seeking loan modifications and foreclosure relief.

DENVER — Colorado Attorney General John Suthers announced today that attorneys for the state reached a settlement agreement with Nutra Pills, Inc., and its owner, Joshua D. Bezoni, to bring the Internet marketer and seller of nutritional supplements, including acai berry supplements, into compliance with Colorado’s consumer protection laws and to reimburse consumers who did business with the company over the last year.

DENVER — Colorado Attorney General John Suthers announced today that an agreement the New York Attorney General’s Office has struck with Toyota, requiring the automaker to assist consumers who own car models affected by the company’s recent recalls, will be applied to consumers in Colorado.

The terms of the agreement require Toyota and Lexus dealerships to assist consumers with affected vehicles in a variety of ways. Specifically, the agreement requires that the automaker:

DENVER — Colorado Attorney General John Suthers announced today that the state has reached a settlement agreement with the former operators of the Colorado Humane Society. As part of the settlement, Robert Warren and Mary C. Warren are barred from operating or managing charitable organizations for the next decade. The Warrens also will be prohibited from owning or operating any business covered by the Colorado Pet Animal Care Facilities Act, such as an animal shelter, for the next five years.
