DENVER – Colorado Attorney General Cynthia H. Coffman and prosecutors from the Colorado Department of Law continue to combat crime traveling into our state by way of Colorado’s interstate highways. Attorney General Coffman recently attended the International Border Conference in Phoenix, Arizona to work with her counterparts to address human and drug trafficking and money laundering on both sides of the border.

DENVER – La procuradora general del estado de Colorado, Cynthia H. Coffman y fiscales del Departamento Jurídico del estado de Colorado continúan la lucha contra el crimen, el cual entra a nuestro estado a través de las autopistas interestatales de Colorado. La Procuradora General Coffman participó recientemente en la Conferencia Internacional Fronteriza en Phoenix, Arizona para colaborar con sus colegas y abordar el problema del tráfico humano y de drogas, así como el lavado de dinero en ambos lados de la frontera.

DENVER – La Procuradora General de Justicia de Colorado Cynthia H. Coffman está advirtiéndole a los consumidores que permanezcan vigilantes de contratistas de un día, quienes prometen trabajar pero escapan con su dinero sin siquiera haber comenzado el trabajo o dejándolo incompleto. Siguiendo nevadas record en marzo, se espera que las estafas en instalación de techos se incrementen en abril y mayo.  La Procuradora General les advierte a los consumidores que investiguen o que se arriesguen a convertirse en “Víctimas del Día de los Inocentes.”

DENVER – Colorado Attorney General Cynthia H. Coffman is warning consumers to be on the lookout for fly-by-night roofing contractors who promise work but take off with your money with the job incomplete or not begun. Following record snow falls in March, roofing scams are expected to increase in April and May.  The Attorney General advises consumers to do their homework or risk becoming an “April Fool.”

DENVER -- Colorado Attorney General Cynthia H. Coffman, along with the Federal Trade Commission and charity regulators from all 50 states and Washington D.C., have obtained a permanent injunction dissolving two nationwide sham cancer charities and banning their president from all future charitable work.  The settlement announced today concludes the largest joint enforcement action ever undertaken by the FTC and state charity regulators.

DENVER – In recognition of National Consumer Protection Week, Colorado Attorney General Cynthia H. Coffman shares Colorado’s top ten consumer complaints of 2015.

During calendar year 2015, consumers filed 9,520 complaints and inquiries with the Colorado Attorney General’s Office. For the third year in a row, debt collection agencies topped the list of complaints by industry. Mortgage and foreclosure-related businesses had the second highest number of complaints.

DENVER – En reconocimiento de la Semana Nacional de Protección al Consumidor, la Oficina de la procuradora general de Colorado, Cynthia H. Coffman comparte las diez quejas principales de los consumidores de 2015 en Colorado.

Durante el año 2015, los consumidores presentaron 9,520 quejas y consultas con la Procuraduría General del Estado de Colorado. Por tercer año consecutivo, las agencias de colección encabezan la lista de quejas por industria. Las empresas relacionadas con las hipotecas y de ejecución hipotecaria tuvieron el segundo número de quejas.
