Scammers are indifferent in who they target in perpetrating their scheme as long as there is an opportunity for financial gain.  As a result, the Elderly is not immune to the unscrupulous behavior of fraudsters and is often the target of elaborate schemes, such as Grandparent scams, lottery winner, to aggressive door-to-door sales, and home contractor fraud. 

Financial exploitation of the Elderly is extremely troubling as scammers often create schemes that cause extreme financial harm and, in some cases, the loss of one’s entire retirement savings and potentially even their home.  To stave off the scammers, we have provided information regarding a number of scams targeting the Elderly to provide assistance in education and an easy method to report scams.
